Fast Traxx Troupe, formerly known as Joe Gentry Track Troupe, was founded in 1969 by two-time Olympic Coach Lt. Col (ret). Joseph Gentry in Colorado Springs. The Mission of the organization is to provide a positive outlet for all young people to discover the joy of personal growth through athletic achievement.  No matter what their competitive level or economic status, we promise to nurture and expose the youth in our charge to the importance of setting goals and attaining their own “personal best”.

Created as an environment, where young men and women could find themselves outside the competitive world of peer pressure, drugs, and non-constructive activities, the track and field club provides training to athletes from six (8) to eighteen (18) years of age to compete locally and nationally.  Certified coaches donate their time to provide training to the athletes during two track and field seasons.  The Indoor season runs from October to February and culminates with the Simplot Games, the nation’s premier indoor track and field event for high school athletes, which draws 2000 athletes to Pocatello, ID, and is featured annually on national sports networks.  The Outdoor season runs from May to August, culminating with the National Junior Olympic Championships, held annually in various parts of the country.  Both meets allow athletes to gain exposure, recognition and scholarships to universities throughout the country and to further their athletic ability as well as their education.

Since the Troupe’s beginnings, athletes have advanced and been placed among the top contenders in national competition.  More than 300 athletes have received athletic and academic scholarships to colleges and universities throughout the country and around the world as a direct result of their participation.  In addition, several of the Troupe’s alumni have gone on to participate in Olympic competition and professional athletic careers.
